Juana's baptisim

Q & A:

Mission - Part 1 (Part 2)

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Mathew 28:19-20

What is a missionary? The obvious answer is a man with a mission, but what is that mission? It's sad that in this day and age people actually have to ask Christians that question? Many have long departed from the mission the Lord has given to one of their own creation and liking. Many have become wrapped up in social programs and relief work to the extent of forgetting the real work of a Christian. Their mission has become one of which the world approves, though not necessarily one of which Christ approves. We must never forget that the world did not approve of the work Christ did. Rather he was rejected by the world. (John 15:18-21)

It is not that there is not a social aspect to the gospel, there most certainly is! The Lord Jesus went about healing the sick and helping the poor, but he never lost sight of the real purpose for which he had come. "The Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which is lost." (Luke 19:10).

We do want to help those in need... (part 2)
